Kineon MOVE+ vs. Therasage TheraPro: Which Fits Your Routine?

A sore knee and an aching back can send you shopping for the same thing: a recovery device you can use at home. But they may lead you to very different purchases.

The Kineon MOVE+ concentrates light treatment around a specific area. The Therasage TheraPro Large gives you a much larger surface, with infrared heat and several treatment settings. We'd lean toward MOVE+ for short, targeted sessions, especially if you want something you can pack for travel. TheraPro is more appealing if you want warmth over a larger area and have time to settle in.

The differences become clearer once you look at what using each device involves.

MOVE+ keeps the treatment small and the sessions short

MOVE+ has three rechargeable modules attached to an adjustable strap. Each module combines red LEDs with near-infrared lasers, and the modules sit against your skin around the treatment area. The device is cordless during use.

That design is particularly relevant if you're buying for one joint. You position the modules where you need them, secure the strap, and start the session. Kineon lists sessions of 5 to 15 minutes in its technical guidance, so you don't need to reserve a substantial part of your evening.

The tradeoff is coverage. Those three modules treat a limited area at a time. If you want to address several separate areas, you'll need to reposition them and allow time for each.

Fit also deserves more attention than it gets in most product descriptions. Using MOVE+ around a knee is a different setup from reaching around your hip or back. Kineon offers an extender strap for larger areas, sold separately from the device. That accessory may matter more to your purchase than another paragraph about wavelengths.

TheraPro offers warmth and more room, with a bigger setup

TheraPro Large measures 58 by 26 inches, roughly five feet long, and weighs 24 pounds. Its size makes room for broader areas such as the back or legs. Therasage describes typical sessions as 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the setting.

Infrared heat is an important reason to consider it. If you enjoy using a heating pad and want a larger device that also offers light treatment and PEMF, TheraPro is the more relevant option. PEMF stands for pulsed electromagnetic field technology, a separate function from the pad's heat and light.

You'll also have more controls to learn. The controller has separate settings for heat, red light, and PEMF, including nine PEMF programs. That gives you choices, but it takes more familiarization than positioning a wearable light device.

Although TheraPro folds and comes with a carrying bag, it needs to stay plugged in during use. We'd think of it as something you can move between rooms, rather than something you'd casually add to a weekend bag. At 24 pounds, "portable" has its limits.

What would make us choose one over the other?

For a buyer focused on one joint, MOVE+'s shorter sessions and cordless design are compelling. The main question is whether the strap and module placement suit the area you want to treat.

For someone who wants warmth across their back or legs, TheraPro offers something MOVE+ doesn't. Its larger size is useful if you have a comfortable place to set it up near an outlet. It's less convenient if every session means taking it out of storage and putting it away afterward.

MOVE+ makes targeted light therapy easy to fit into your day. Its three modules sit against the skin around the joint, and the cordless design means you can use it while reading or working at your desk. With sessions of 5 to 15 minutes and a travel case included, it's a practical choice for someone who wants to use the device regularly, including away from home.

TheraPro's appeal is having room to stretch out and enjoy the warmth. The large pad accommodates your back or legs, with adjustable infrared heat, red light, and nine PEMF programs. You can choose the functions you want for each session. If you already enjoy spending part of your evening with a heating pad, TheraPro offers a larger setup with more treatment options to explore.

Explore Kineon MOVE+ for targeted wearable light therapy, or Therasage TheraPro Large for a larger recovery setup with infrared warmth.
